PROJECT RE-VISITING FEMINIST ART [Inside the book, p. 86] In the Re-visiting feminist art series, Cornelia Sollfrank dealt with early feminist works by repeating them. The artist selected pieces that had influenced her as an artist and feminist. But she was only familiar with these works as conveyed in the media. Through the act of repetition, Cornelia Sollfrank took the place of the artists she selected and fashioned a complex test assembly by confronting the concept of the subject in these early feminist artworks with the action theoretical concept of repetition. Critical distance is achieved from the convergence produced by the media transfer. The relevance of the repeated object and the statement produced by it is put forward for discussion along with the dissimilarity of feminist practices. http://artwarez.org/projects/refeministart/
